The morning page

A day sheet is the oldest tool of a well-run office: the whole day on one page, in time order, handed over with the coffee. It answers the three questions a busy person asks all day - what is next, where is it, who is in the room - without a phone coming out of a pocket.

The calendar app already knows the schedule; the day sheet is the edited version. The assistant's craft is what gets added: the note that the deck is already printed, that the car is booked both ways, that the 2 o'clock prefers to be called on the cell. This tool imports the raw day from an .ics file in one click, then gets out of the way while you add the part that makes it yours.

Nothing here leaves this tab. The calendar file is read locally, the draft lives in this browser's local storage, and the sheet goes only where you print or paste it.

How do I print one day of my calendar on one clean page?
Export your calendar to an .ics file - Outlook: File then Save Calendar; Google Calendar: Settings then Export; Apple Calendar: File then Export - and drop the file here. The tool lists every day the file contains; pick one, import it, and print. You get a clean, readable page instead of the cramped grid calendar apps produce, and the file never leaves your browser.
What is a day sheet?

What goes on an executive's daily schedule sheet?
One page, in time order, answering the day's three questions at a glance: what is next, where is it, who is in the room. Then the assistant's craft - the note that the deck is already printed, the car is booked both ways, the 2 o'clock prefers the cell. If it cannot be acted on today, it does not belong on the sheet.
Does the calendar file I drop here get uploaded?
No. The .ics file is read entirely inside your browser tab, the day you pick becomes editable entries, and the file itself goes nowhere. A calendar is a map of somebody's life; the only server this page ever touches is your printer.
How are time zones handled?
Times carrying a named time zone are shown exactly as written in the file. Times stored as UTC are converted to this machine's clock and labeled "your time" so nothing silently lies. Beyond that one labeled case the tool never does time arithmetic - a wrong hour on a day sheet is the one unforgivable failure.
Can I build a day sheet without a calendar file?
Yes - the entries are ordinary fields. Add a row per item with the time, what it is, where, who, and any note. The .ics import is a head start, not a requirement, and everything it imports stays fully editable.
