Where the wedding money stands

A wedding budget is two jobs at once. First you decide how to split the total: how much for the venue and food, how much for photos, flowers, music and the rest. Then the real prices come in, one booking at a time, and the question changes to whether they still fit.

This page does both on one sheet. Give each category a share of your total and it becomes a dollar target. Add each cost as you go, with the estimate first and the actual price once you book, and every category shows what is planned against its target and what is left. Any category that runs over turns red.

Deposits and due dates are on the same page. Put in what you have paid and when the rest is due, and the sheet shows what you still owe, the next payment coming, what falls in the next 30 days and anything overdue. The cost per guest is every planned cost divided by the guests you expect.

Nothing here leaves this tab. Your numbers are saved in this browser's local storage so they're still there next time, and the finished page goes only to your printer.

Questions this tool gets asked

How do I split a wedding budget by percentage?
Give each category a share of the total and the calculator turns it into a dollar target. The shares it starts with are only a starting point: change them to what matters to you, and the total row shows when they no longer add up to 100%.
What is the difference between estimated and actual?
Estimated is what you expect a cost to be. Actual is the price once you book. The calculator plans with the actual price as soon as you enter one, and with the estimate until then.
How is cost per guest worked out?
Every planned cost added together, divided by the number of guests you expect. It includes costs that do not change with the guest count, like the photographer, so it is the whole wedding per guest.
What does still to pay mean?
For each cost, the planned price minus what you have paid so far. The next payment due is the earliest due date among the costs you still owe, and anything past its due date shows as overdue.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The numbers are worked out inside this browser tab. They are saved in this browser's local storage so they are still there next time, and the page goes only where you print or copy it.
