Debt Payoff Plan Builder

Your debts in, your debt-free date out: the order to pay them, the month each one ends, and what you save over paying only the minimums. Printed on one page.

Your budget

Your monthly total stays the same. When a debt is paid off, its minimum rolls into the next one.

The way out, on one page

Most debt calculators show one loan at a time. Real life is a credit card, a store card, a car loan and a student loan all at once, each with its own rate and minimum. This page takes all of them, puts them in the order that pays them off, and prints the month each one ends and the month you are debt-free.

The rule behind it is simple and it is the one that works: pay every minimum, put every spare dollar on one debt at a time, and when a debt is gone, roll its minimum into the next one. Your monthly total never changes, but the plan speeds up as it goes. Switch between avalanche and snowball and watch the dates move.

Nothing here leaves this tab. Your debts are saved in this browser's local storage so the plan is still there next time, and the finished page goes only to your printer.

Questions this tool gets asked

Avalanche or snowball: which pays off debt faster?
Avalanche pays the highest interest rate first, so it almost always costs the least interest. Snowball pays the smallest balance first, so you close accounts sooner and see progress early. The difference is often smaller than people expect; switch the plan above and the page shows both dates for your own debts.
What does rolling over the minimum mean?
Your monthly budget stays the same the whole way: every minimum plus your extra amount. When one debt is paid off, its minimum does not go back into your pocket; it joins the extra and goes to the next debt in line. That roll-over is what makes a payoff plan speed up as it goes.
How is the interest worked out?
Monthly: each balance grows by its APR divided by 12, then that month's payments come off. Real statements use daily balances and exact days in the month, so they can differ by a few cents or a day, but the payoff dates and totals land in the same place.
What if my minimum payment is less than the interest?
Then that debt never shrinks on the minimum alone, and the page says so instead of printing a date. The plan marks the debt as minimum below interest. Raising the extra amount usually fixes it, because the plan sends the extra to the debts in order.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The whole plan is worked out inside this browser tab. Your debts are saved in this browser's local storage so you can come back to them, and the plan goes only where you print or copy it. No account, no server, no upload.
Is this financial advice?
No. It is a calculator that shows what happens when you pay a set amount each month in a set order. It does not know your full situation, so treat it as a plan to check against your statements, not advice.
